Evelyn Harrison

2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Planlearning triangle

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we will continue to focus on celebrating differences and affirming the identities and racial/cultural backgrounds of all members of our school community. We are focusing on the use of positive, accepting, and inclusive language by all stakeholders. We are focusing on eliminating the use of homophobic comments and/or racial slurs at Evelyn Harrison.

We are doing this to create a school culture that is understanding, accepting, and affirming of all members of the school community. It is important to us that all stakeholders feel cherished for their uniqueness, identity, and racial/cultural background.

Key Actions or Strategies

  • We will connect with the TVDSB Safe Schools and Well-Being Team and Implementation Coach for support with resources, educational initiatives, guest speakers, community supports (e.g., St. Leonard’s), as well as the School Support Counsellor.
  • Our Leadership Club at Evelyn Harrison will continue to plan school-wide initiatives celebrating inclusivity and racial/cultural differences (e.g., assemblies, daily announcements, school events, etc.).

Community and Home Connections

  • Support your child with learning about different cultures and types of people in your community.
  • Try to reinforce positive affirmations and kind, respectful language at home with your child.
  • Check out the TVDSB Safe Schools and Well-Being Website for resources connected to our Safe and Inclusive School Plan.
